...At First Glance
She's tall for a woman and on the verge of underweight.  Celeste has wavy, dark blonde hair and dark blue eyes.  She has fair skin, and a dainty face-shape.  Usually she can be found with an optimistic smile or a determined frown on her face.  She wears her and her late fiancé's engagement rings around her neck on a length of useless wire she ripped from a broken ceiling.  Because of her profession she usually wears slightly loose clothes, and she had a lab coat which belongs to her.

...Skin Deep
Celeste is the motherly type, who tries to be everyone's friend and make people feel at home.  She's kind and self-sacrificing to the point of neglecting herself, but it makes little difference to her if she's protecting someone who needs it.  It takes a lot to set Celeste, but she can really go off on you if you do.  Threaten someone she cares about and she will do absolutely anything to protect them.  She can't stand for discrimination of any type, and despite her niceness she is willing to call someone out for behavior she doesn't like.  Celeste also has a rather bad fear of spiders, and would take good pains to avoid them.

...All Work And All Play
Celeste is a biologist, double-majoring in exobiology (the study of possible plants and animals on other planets or in space) and microbiology.   She was recruited to join the Vakyrie because of being a promising scientist in a rapidly-expanding field.  Celeste is talented in the research field, and on the Valkyrie often toiled away in the exo-ecology lab, trying to figure out what kind of earth bacteria could survive in potential extraterrestrial environments as well as how to realistically terraform other plants.

Though Celeste's job may have risks, like Jack she was assigned a limited-range handgun, but this gun does not have the CPP (condensed photon particle) bullet capabilities because her job has less inherent risks than the job that Jack would have.  But she's good at, let's say, 'utilizing' her surroundings when she's in need.
 
... Everything In Between
Celeste was raised as 'impoverished' on futuristic Earth, living
with her mother, step-father, and half-sister Miranda. Celeste was able to go to college entirely on scholarships because she had earned exemplary science grades and had a poor background.

She became a biologist in a exciting field because she enjoys research, and figured that there might be money to be made in grants for her.  She was sent aboard the G.C.S. Valkyrie because of a promising thesis paper she wrote on the concept of terraforming gaseous planets using genetically-modified ammonia-digesting bacteria, such as co-habituate plant roots.  On the ship, she meant her fiancé, the second in command of the ship, and they got engaged.

The ship suddenly plunged into cryogenic stasis.  After three years in cryo when their ship was attacked,
Celeste survived and Adrian didn't.  All Celeste wants now is to figure out a way to survive the rundown spaceship she's stranded on and rebuild her life--without the man she loved.
